What is this? ...Scam?

Today (October 25, 2010), I received an email  that was interesting to me. I'll let you read it first.

Dear webmaster,

My company, Topspot-Promotions, is willing to pay you for the publication of a small advertisement on martik-scorp.blogspot.com for one of our customers.

Currently we are using a few types of advertising to assure that in every site the advertisement that will be placed will fit it the most.

I already thought about one that is matching perfectly some pages of your site.

For full details please contact me at ann.price@topspot-promotions.net.

*If you have other websites which I can review for advertising please send me their URLs as well.

I decided to reply them and I did. After that I did some research about this "Topspot-Promotions" and I found more interesting topics. Continue to read them!

About a month ago I've received a following email:

Dear Webmaster,

My name is Sherry, and my company Topspot-Promotions represents online sport sites in various domains. We are looking at reputable sites to offer them profitable opportunities to help promote some of my clients sites.

We would like to know if you are interested in working with us on this. For further details please don't hesitate to contact me.

It looked like a scam, but anyway I've decided to give it a try and I replied. They've replied immediately saying that they would like to place a few adds and promotional articles on my site and that they are willing to pay for it. I still thought it was a scam, but I've continued the communication. Soon they've asked me to place an article promoting Champions League betting on 888sport site. I've published the article and they've told me that they will pay me within next 48 hours. I've waited for 72 hours and after there was no payment I've emailed them asking what is going on and they said that sometimes it takes longer and asked me if I can wait for one more week?!? At this point I was sure I was not going to receive any money, but anyway I've waited a week plus one day and they again said that they will need a few more days. At this moment I've stopped the communication, removed their article and until today I was to lazy to write this, but here it is.

Topspot Promotions is a scam and I'm really surprised that 888sport is involved in this, but....

You can do more search to find more about this "Topspot-Promotions". Just be careful...
